Job Summary
Incumbents in this position are responsible for assisting the Procurement/Budget Manager in implementing CFPUA’s procurement process and filling in for the Procurement Manager in their absence. This position requires independent judgement, discretion and initiative in prioritizing and completing projects, as well as handling difficult public contract situations. This position ensures compliance with local policies and NC Statutes, as well as best business practices related to government procurement, bidding, and contracting.
Essential Job Functions
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or directly related field.
Two (2) years of professional level procurement work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills including Excel and Word.
Training at the School of Government for Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO) for purchasing, contracting, and finance is preferred.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license.
